CASE STUDY

A rustic tone for an outdoor destination

Project: KICKING HORSE RIVER LODGE COLLATERAL AND WEBSITE

Challenge

With the opening of the Kicking Horse River Lodge only weeks away, the lodge’s owners needed a website that could reach like-minds with the story of their operation. Nestled in Golden, BC, the destination is like none other—a breathtaking space that truly reflects the owners' down to earth attitudes, and love of the region.

Solution

In an effort to connect online visitors with the “soul” of the operation, the site draws upon the tactile nature of the lodge by representing natural materials, including wood from the lodge. The genuine hospitality and casual atmosphere shows through in the text which is conversational and fun. Additionally, the site retains a rich look and layout, but is flexible enough to allow client-side additions of photos, text, and pages.

Result

The website’s communication strategy, wealth of compelling content, and ease of delivery helped Kicking Horse River Lodge launch with much success. The site’s strategic search engine optimization allows it to cast a wide net and receive hits from users looking for lodge vacations in British Columbia. Additionally, the rich look of this award-winning site has positioned them in the mid to high-end resort market allowing KHRL to attract a clientele with more to spend. The lodge has been in operation for over three years and they are consistently fully booked.
